Perfectly Palazzo Pants – My Refined Style #13
October 6, 2016Mind Every Moment Of Your Life
October 13, 2016Layering and levels take an outfit from ordinary to interesting. I’m bringing back the denim shirt again this week to show another way to layer it now that cooler Fall temps are blowing in.
I bought this red sheath off the Marshall’s clearance rack without even trying it on. Usually, I always try things on before buying, but this time I just wasn’t feeling the whole take everything off vibe. Of course, there’s a reason why we try on clothes to actually determine if they fit…blah, blah, blah. So, I shouldn’t have been surprised that this little dress was about a foot too short!
Still, I loved the color, so it was time to muster up some creativity.
Layering And Levels
The denim shirt makes the perfect light jacket, whether worn belted or layered over a shirt. This outfit employs a lot of layering and levels.
I love the zipper accent of the red sheath and this denim shirt does a nice job of drawing the eye to this appealing feature. Then, I chose a belt to pick up the red of the sheath and the black of the pants. I also don’t get uptight with matching metals. Instead, I mix and match metals at will.
I chose these black strap sandals to add weight to equal out the weight of the outfit since there was a lot going on at the top.
It can be tempting to resort to the same outfit combinations. Fashion offers you the opportunity to explore your creativity and express your personality in new ways. If this type of outfit is too far outside your comfort zone, then you can still experiment wearing your denim shirt in new ways.
