Today I sat down to consider, “what are my top 5 Spring images?”

This week started with the first day of Spring and ends with Easter Sunday. For me, Spring is a season that speaks hope and optimism.

Even if you are still battling the cold, you have probably noticed patches of green grass and flowers bursting through their snowy coats as if to say, “move over, it’s our turn now!” There’s something about seeing a glimmer of life after a cold, bleak season that just speaks to better things ahead.

Here are my top 5 Spring images!

Top 5 Spring Images

Hats or “Easter Bonnets”

Lush Green Grass

Perfectly Coordinated Flowers (nature doesn’t need a stylist)

Painted Toes

Each of these images shout, “life is worth living!” Which others would you add to the list?

Happy Easter

Easter has always been a special time for me. Of course, when I was young, it was all about the new Easter dress and basket of hollow chocolate bunnies on the kitchen table. But now, it’s a poignant reminder of sacrificial love…

We can understand someone dying for a person worth dying for, and we can understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice. But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him.

Romans 5:8 (The Message)

The story of Easter is one of redemption, restoration and new beginnings…it’s a story I need to be reminded of often. As I work to pack up our family home and contemplate my youngest leaving home to attend college in a few short months, those present realities could so easily drain me of all optimism.

I’m not going to lie, it’s a tough road. But, I can choose what to focus on, so I will think of spring flowers and chubby babies in frilly dresses…lush green grass and wide-brimmed hats…and God’s great love for you and me.

Happy Easter everyone!

A beautiful post Shellie, and I am glad that you shared it with us on The Blogger’s Pit Stop. The Message makes verses jump out and be so real. Redemption, restoration, and a new beginning is what the human heart craves, yet often stumbles and misses it.
Which way are you shifting? Back to the US?

    • Shellie Bowdoin says:

Hey Kath, we are heading back to the US for a year, which means things are getting crazy here!

HI Shellie Following you on Twitter from the Bloggers’ Pit Stop.

Yeah, those take me back. I can remember getting a new dress and hat for Easter Sunday when I was little. (Even got some little white gloves with it a time or two. ) The photos you chose show there is beauty all around us, if we will only look!

    • Shellie Bowdoin says:

You are so right, LuAnn! We can choose to see the good or the bad.

  4. Shellie, I just love this post and your photos. These are some great Spring favorite things. I’m wishing you the best during your time of transition. (As an aside, I meant to mention to you before how much I am loving your blog redesign. It is really beautiful and chic.) Happy Easter!

Thanks Regina, I really appreciate you telling me that. It was not the easiest thing I’ve ever done and I’m really glad it’s behind me.
