Saying No Doesn’t Mean You Are A Bad Person
November 7, 2015Just Marilyn And Me – Wordless Wednesday
November 11, 2015It’s not often that my husband and I have the chance to spend a day at the mall. We actually had a free Saturday, so we ventured through the Manila traffic to do some errands and a little shopping. While there, I got him to snap a few pics of what I really wore. I wore a top with a Peter Pan collar, skinny jeans and a black sweater. I bought this cute little top from Ann Taylor this summer.
What I Wore – A Day At The Mall
I like to wear my tops with a partial tuck-in. I prefer the partial tuck-in because it tidies up the front of the outfit, but still allows length across the back. The diagonal line is flattering because it makes the surface underneath, namely the backside, look smaller. It’s also a great way to show off a nice belt.
I love tops with a peter pan collar. These prim little collars have a way of dressing up an everyday outfit. I added a multi-layered black necklace to enhance the vertical line and then paired the blouse with a black sweater.
While at the mall I also got my eyes checked for my first pair of distance glasses. I told the optician I had to capture that look for posterity 😉
During lunch we had a nice view of the Manila street below.
It ended up being one of those rare, perfect days with my man!

So, when’s the last time you got to spend a day out with your man? I hope it hasn’t been too long!

A perfect outfit for a perfect day! Very rare do we have free weekends since my son is busy in sports. We enjoy going to the local farmers market together and grabbing lunch on the weekends.
Thank you for joining TBT Fashion link up and hope to see you next week. Have a great weekend!

Love the outfit! Also love that you shared about your fun day out with hubby. I have been married for 37 years. We still like to do thing together…like occasionally going to the mall. 🙂 Enjoyed your post.
Thanks Krista. Yes, it doesn’t matter what you do as long as you do it together. Glad you stopped by.
So good paired with the necklace! I don’t think there’s anything better than a good, casual but put-together look in neutrals with a truly well-designed ballet flat. I worry about Peter Pan collars reading as too child-like for me to wear. I still have bouncers question that my ID is real in bars. Which is annoying, but… almost flattering? This look is SO great, though, and not at all too-young or try-too-hard. You’ve inspired me to take another look at wearing this style of collar. Most excellent!
Thank you for participating in the Linkup party this week! It’s a real pleasure to ‘meet’ you!
I know what you mean about the collar. I thought the same thing myself, but then I saw this one on sale at Ann Taylor and I guess it spoke to me 😉 I just think they give a sophisticated air and they are easy to dress up or down. Thanks so much for stopping by!
I adore your outfit and I also am a big fan of the partial tuck as it hides my “discomfort zone”! And it sounds like a wonderful day out with your man. But, I do admit that I am always a bit jealous of that since I haven’t even seen my husband in 6 months (except via Skype)! He his currently deployed and will be home in 3 more months. I can’t wait for date nights!!! I am excited for his homecoming since I started my blog since he has been gone and have completely redone my look and am more in tune to looking nice for my beloved!!!

Thanks Jill!
Love your little peter pan collar, I’ve never tried the partial tuck, I’ll give it a go!
I love the look of the peter pan collar, too!

I like the title of your post. So often I look at fashion blogs and think “That looks great, but where would I ever wear that too!” You look very cute and happy in your pictures. My husband and I commit two nights to ourselves every week (just being together at home, not going out), and then we have weekend day and/or an entire weekend once a month that we like to call our “adventure”. We like to either go to a big city or a state park.
Wow, that’s great to hear how you two prioritize your relationship! Yes, I try my best to keep things as real as I can and hopefully still provide some inspiration.
You look perfect for a day out – love the black necklace as a finishing touch, Shellie. xo

Thanks Patti!
Sounds like a fun Saturday!
Nice, casual outfit! Love the layered necklace! And I also love to do a partial tuck with my tops.
My husband and I got to go to lunch on Friday and to dinner (and a little shopping afterward) on Saturday! We don’t go out a lot, so it was a real treat!
Fun Andrea! It is special when we find the time to spend with our men.
