The Thai Hilltribe bag is the focal point

It’s so easy to get into a rut when it comes to getting dressed in the morning. Let’s face it, interesting fashion choices take time and effort, which a lot of us don’t seem to have much of. Sometimes, it’s good to just take a few manageable baby steps toward developing your own personal style.

An easy way to do this is by adding just one unique accessory to an otherwise basic outfit. This lends visual interest, provides a great focal point for an outfit and transforms an everyday style element into something fashion forward.

It is also easier to figure out a way to incorporate a unique accessory if the rest of your outfit is made up of a simple color palette. I have this great Thai Hilltribe bag that I bought in the market in Chiang Mai, Thailand years ago. As much as I love the bag, it doesn’t exactly fit in with a great deal of my wardrobe.

When I want to use it, I pare down the rest of my choices, then the bag becomes the star!

The Basic Components Of This Outfit

I start with the bag . Then, I choose red as the segue color from the bag to my outfit. Finally, the rest of the outfit is anchored by the black and denim neutral base.

Do you have an accessory that you really love, but you can’t seem to figure out how to incorporate it? Take a minute to construct an outfit. Start with the accessory. Choose one color as the segue to your outfit. Then, keep the rest of the wardrobe items neutral.

Red With A Little Ethnic Flair

And there you have it! Even though the bag is quite exotic and richly colored, this one unique accessory fits in well with my outfit. With just a few minutes of advanced planning you can do the same with a unique accessory of your own.
