Black Jersey Sheath For Casual Elegance
October 4, 2016I actually felt a little wisp of coolness in the air tonight, which hopefully speaks to cooler days on the near horizon. Not surprisingly, denim is the “it” thing again for Fall and the denim chambray shirt has to be king of the blue mountain. My denim chambray shirt is the most versatile piece of my whole wardrobe, hands down.
To tell the truth, I enjoy wearing chambray shirts all year round and I’ve got them in all shapes and styles. In fact, I did a post on ways to wear a denim shirt back in the beginning of this little blog.
Isn’t this black jersey skirt the cutest? The tie feature provides structure at the waist and the asymmetrical hem lends visual interest. I found it on the Cato sale rack and I think I will get a lot of wear out of it as well.
I love ankle straps and these blue wedges from Vince Camuto are no exception (in red and black).
Denim Chambray Shirt
If you don’t have a denim chambray shirt, it’s time to put one on your look list. Here are some suggestions for ways to mix and match this item in your wardrobe.
- Contrast the denim shirt with a lace skirt and pearls.
- Pair a denim shirt with contrasting denim pants (light denim with dark denim).
- Layer a denim shirt over a striped or patterned shirt.
- Wear a denim shirt with a feminine circle skirt.
- Wear a denim shirt under a sweater or blazer.
Here are two reasonably priced denim shirts for you to consider.

Shellie, I love how you described it as the “King of the Blue Mountain” because a chambray or denim shirt is just that. I have several myself too and my wrap style V- one that I just got will appear on the blog soon. Love how you styled this with the cute skirt and adorable blue wedges.
Come share your awesome style with me on my Thursday Linkup. A brand-new one is live this week, pretty lady. I’d love for you to join it. Thank you and have a great weekend!
