Keeping it simple today with another post of “What I Really Wore.” I am also sharing a few of my best tips for how to wear a sleeveless sheath.

Phew…last week was a busy one on the blog! Some of you may have noticed that I had three, yes three, linkup posts on Thursday! Of course, I co-host the Thursday Favorite Things Blog Hop every Thursday, then I host My Refined Style Fashion Over 40 Linkup one Thursday a month. But, I also managed to schedule myself as the co-host with Jill and Carrie for Thursday Fashion Files months ago and only realized I had doubled up after it was too late.

If you didn’t get around to all the fashion fun from last week, make sure to follow the links above.

How To Wear A Sleeveless Sheath

After the flurry of last week, today I decided to keep things simple with “what I really wore.” I love polka dots. They have just the right mix of fun, fabulous and fashion.

This polka dot shift dress is the perfect choice when the temperatures start to heat up. The cut of the Sabrina neckline really flatters the shoulders. When choosing a sleeveless dress, try to find a cut that tapers in slightly at the top of the shoulder. You will be surprised how much slimmer your arm will look!

Also, make sure that your sheath dress doesn’t cut too low under the arm. I keep a stack of cut-off camisoles just for this purpose. I wore a black cut-off camisole under this dress to keep everything covered and smooth.

I also prefer a sheer illusion at bottom of the dress. When I originally purchased this dress, the lining was even with the bottom of the dress and made it look heavy. So, I cut a few inches off the bottom of the lining to better emphasize the light, flowing quality of the dress.
