I grew up hearing all the rules for proper dressing and one of the biggest was, “never wear white after Labor Day.” Hmm, I can see how that might be the case in places where you have seasonal change, but in tropical climates it doesn’t really make much sense. That’s why I wear white pants year round.
Now, that’s not to say we never have cooler temperatures in Florida, but I still don’t see any boots in my future for some time yet. So, I am just going to seize on the opportunity to keep wearing my whites!
I wear white pants year round because I love the crisp look they bring to an otherwise casual outfit. There’s just something about white that says, “clean and put together.”
For this outfit, I chose a delicate navy lace peekaboo top. Navy is always a great neutral choice and it also provides a slightly softer alternative to black if it’s too overpowering for your skin tone.
I don’t usually wear a lot of lace, but I appreciate the details of this navy blouse. The peekaboo arms and top keep the lace from looking too heavy or overly formal. I also love the cut-out flowing detail of the back.
I have mentioned this before, but it bears repeating…don’t go too tight with white pants because the light color can really emphasize lumps and bumps if stretched too tight. These pants still give me plenty of moving room without looking baggy.
I picked up this gray leather fringe necklace and bracelets on sale at Macy’s, then I continued the gold accent with my sandals.
We had a great turnout for our one-year anniversary linkup and, as usual, everyone brought their A-game to the party! Here are some of my favorite featured looks.
