Is it just me…or do some of you appreciate it when life settles back into more of a normal routine? Don’t get me wrong, I cherished every moment of this last summer with our whole family together. But, I found it so hard to maintain any semblance of normal life.

As a result, my workout schedule was virtually non-existent for two months and this little blog suffered from neglect. Oh, I managed to get out my fashion post most weeks, but I have all these exciting topics resting in little storehouses in my brain, just waiting to be set free!

So, this week marks the point when I’m getting back into the groove of normal life!

Figure Flattering Peplum Top

Today, I’m wearing a figure flattering peplum top. Recently, I was shuffling through the sale racks at Belk Department Store and came across this blouse in white, but it was one size too small. The saleswoman checked the computer and found out there was one navy peplum top in my size…and would you believe she found it in a sea of sale racks?!

I paired this navy peplum top with white bermuda shorts and kept the rest of the outfit simple. Even though the outfit was simple and comfortable, I also felt good in it.

Tips For Wearing A Peplum Top

Peplum tops can be extremely figure flattering if you keep a few of these tips in mind.

• Make sure the peplum tapers in at your natural waist, not above it or below it.
• Avoid peplum tops with a lot of extra pleating.
• The bottom flair of the peplum top should be proportional to the width of your shoulders.
