The summer season is my most casual season by far and these jeans shorts have definitely been my fashion trademark.
I can’t believe summer is almost over! It has been a season full of family, friends, food and seemingly endless college preparations. But, as busy as it’s been, I have loved every single second of it.
This week marks the end of some precious family time as both of my kids will be officially settled into college. Then, begins the task of carving out a new life and routine with just my husband and me. Actually, we were married for six years before the kids came along, so now it’s time to remember what life was like before we were four.
Jean Shorts
Jean shorts work for so many outfits. I love wearing them with loafers and a button-down shirt or dressed up with a flowing blouse.
Today, I echoed the blue color of the denim throughout my whole outfit with this top from Banana Republic. Then, I added these super cute brown wedges to dress it up a bit.
These stylish Orchid readers, given by readers.com, work perfectly with this laid back color scheme. Then, the same colors are echoed in my handmade necklace from the Philippines.

I just found your blog – I arrived here from Fab Over 40 – I think I will be visiting often, as your style is similar to mine and I am always looking for some inspiration.
Those fabulous “cute brown wedges” – is that actually a hook and loop type closure on the ankle strap? I first noticed the rocker toe/wedge heel structure, usually one of my favorite types of wedge heel styles. They look comfortable enough to wear/walk around in all day. Could you please tell me what brand, and, am I right about the ankle strap closure?

Hi Shari, aren’t they great?! The brand is Blowfish. I purchased them at Marshalls about a month ago, so there may still be some available. Yes, they are hook and loop. I’m so glad you found me!

These are so cute, such a great shape, but your link is for The Orchid, not The Opal, and it does look like you’re wearing the Orchid. Anyway, they don’t have the magnification I need (1.50)! I’ll have to keep looking on their site – so many to choose from.
