I’ve gotta have white summer shorts! White shorts win the prize for my favorite go-to clothing piece of the summer.
White Summer Shorts
It’s been hot, hot, hot in Florida this summer, so shorts have been my best friend. I love wearing white summer shorts because they provide a clean finish to an outfit.
Occasionally, I ask my husband to take pics for me. He usually has me laughing…he just starts clicking whether I am ready or not.
White shorts elevate a casual outfit with little extra effort. They also provide a fabulous back drop to highlight other colors. This blue patterned top really pops!
Just remember a few tips to make white shorts a little more figure flattering…
- Tight white fabric forms unflattering creases. Choose shorts that skim, rather than cling.
- White fabric does create the illusion of width. Pair white shorts or pants with flowing tops or use the partial tuck to allow the fabric to hang lower in the back (as I wore here and here ).
If you don’t have any white shorts, now’s the time to find some on sale for next year. Kohl’s has some great styles on sale.

Ok, I give in. You’ve inspired me to get my white shorts out. Can almost replicate this outfit exactly. Will try it. Thank you for taking me out of my comfort zone.
