It’s time for a summer dress and the My Refined Style Fashion Over 40 Linkup #10!
I love dresses and summer is the perfect time to wear them. This black and white sundress really caught my eye. The white design contrasts so well against the black back drop. The full circle cut is also extremely figure flattering.
I am not usually a fan of spaghetti straps, so I paired my dress with a flowing jersey vest that I picked up from The Loft several years ago. I find that a simple vest, like this one, comes in handy to pull together a lot of my summer outfits.
I am wearing the vest two ways. First, I tied it at the waist to follow the natural line of the dress.
Then, I allowed the vest to flow free and belted it in the middle to better define my waist.
Just because my outfit was black and white doesn’t mean I couldn’t add a huge heap of color with my accessories…that’s the beauty of a simple color palette. I added some multi-colored shell and bead jewelry made in the Philippines…and finished the look off with a fabulous turquoise and silver ring.
I have both of my kids together for the rest of the summer, so I am one happy mama! I hope you are also making wonderful memories. Now, let’s get to the My Refined Style Linkup. I’m excited to see what everyone has in store for us this month!

Your looks always inspire me. I love dresses too, but am kind of stuck with Maxis due to a huge scar from a knee replacement that is still red and bumpy. I also don’t go sleeveless, despite my swimming I have lots of arm jiggles! I love the vest over the dress, and can do that with short sleeves as well.
