December is knocking at the door and that means all kinds of holiday fun is right around the corner. I had a great Thanksgiving with family and friends! We had all our special treats and also spent some time reflecting on what we were thankful for. Orange is a color that is often associated with Thanksgiving and Fall. Even if orange is not in your color palette, try orange accessories for a pop of color.
For this outfit, I layered a navy blue mock sweater set over a Tommy Hilfiger button-up shirt and added some skinny jeans. I found these fabulous cadmium orange heels on sale at Nine West. I added a Thai orange beaded necklace, a bangle set with hints of orange and coral orange earrings.
For a more casual look, I chose some orange loafers and an orange leather bag that I have owned for years and years. Orange loafers are one of my favorite go-to accessories, so I always have a pair of them. They are surprisingly versatile when paired with blacks, blues and neutral colors.
I think this type of outfit is perfect for fashion over 40. The flowy front of the blouse helps to camouflage the tummy area, but the closer fit of the button-up shirt still creates a body-conscious silhouette.

Your right Shellie, those pops of color make all the difference, I love the necklace, I wish I could still wear heels, I miss them so. You really look cute!! Perfect feature for this weeks #OMHGWW coming!

You look adorable! I’ve never been crazy about orange, but hints of it to add a pop of color to your outfit is fantastic!
Hi Brooke, I just make sure not to use orange near my face as it’s not in my color palette.
I really like orange, rust those shades. I used to never wear them. You created a very styled and pretty look with the navy and orange, love the heels!
Thanks for linking up with Turning Heads Tuesday!
Hi Jess, I’m sure rust is a great color for your hair and skin tone. Yes, those orange heels are pretty fabulous 😉
Blue is a great color on you and the orange accents really make your look pop!
YES! Love it! Orange and red are my colors (it took me years to accept that because blue is my favorite color), and not enough people appreciate orange until they see someone else wearing it. Love your style! (I found you through the Fresh Fashion Forum link up, and so glad I did.)
Me too, Regina! It’s nice to find another orange and red lover. I seem to have a lot of blue in my wardrobe as well, but red always steals the show.
Shellie, orange is my favourite colour. I love the way you’ve used it today and also love that you looked like you’re having such fun on your shoot. The shoes are fab, both pairs and the handbag would be an old favourite with me too. I’ve got a couple of orange handbags that feature heavily in my blog over the summer. You look so cute and sassy in this outfit x

Why thanks!!! I am thrilled you would take a moment to stop by with a little encouraging hug 😉
Orange is great with blue. Adorable, Shellie!
I always think orange is such an underrated color!!
It’s a color that can carry a huge impact, even on a small accessory.
Perfect little pops of orange. I especially love the heels – such great shoes. Thanks for linking up with us today. Have a lovely week!
Thanks Carrie, you too!
