My Clown – OMHG Wordless Wednesday

Color is an essential fashion factor. Wearing just the right color enhances and complements your natural features. Me? I’m a fan of bold, true colors. My skin and hair have cool blue undertones, so this royal blue flowing blouse over white leggings really is the perfect way for me to make a color statement!

Royal Blue Flowing Blouse Over White Leggings

Make A Color Statement - Royal Blue

And here I go again with the white leggings! I guess they are just my theme piece for September, although I think this is the last time you will see them for a while. But, they really do allow this gorgeous royal blue blouse to be the star of the show!

The cascading fluted sleeves provide just the right feminine touch to this blouse’s simple design. Also, the length of the blouse provides nice coverage. It’s essential to consider the length and drape of your blouse when wearing leggings. You don’t want the leggings or what’s under them to steal the spotlight!

How to wear white leggings – Pair white leggings with a longer blouse that hits below your backside. Choose a blouse that is flowing and is proportionately wider at the base. This will make your legs look thinner in comparison.

Make A Color Statement - Royal Blue

Because this blouse makes such a powerful statement on its own, I chose to pair it with just a few jewelry pieces and kept everything else at a minimal. I am wearing a few Erimish bracelets in both corresponding and contrasting colors and then a stunning Kendra Scott pendant necklace in cobalt blue. I chose to pair this outfit with Tommy Hilfiger sandals that are accented with a brushed gold color.

  1. The blue of your top is my favorite blue, I wear it a lot also. I have yet to find a pair of white leggings that doesn’t show too much of the lumpy texture of my legs. lol

I’ll confess that I’m a little afraid of color – I tend to stay in neutrals all too often, but that blue is beautiful on you and the lipstick is as well. I’m trying very hard to get out of my comfort zone – I hadn’t thought about bright lipstick but now I’m inspired to try it.

    • Shellie Bowdoin says:

Baby steps, baby steps…try stepping out with one new pop of color. The lipstick would be a good place to start. You will be amazed at the difference adding this little bit of color can make to your look! Thanks for stopping by.

I am also sporting this shade of blue but I call it TARDIS blue!!! It would be delightful if you would like to link up with my friend Maricel’s Tuesday link-up TARDIS Tuesday as we count that shade of blue as a Doctor Who colour- you can link up over at my blog (if you’d like?!) or hers but it goes live in 9 hours!!! x

    • shelliebowdoin21@gmail.com says:

Thanks Alissa, it’s great you know one of your signature colors…especially with red we girls have to know when to snap it up because they don’t make a lot of red clothes!

  22. Carlee says:

Hi Fiona, thanks for giving me a heads up…it was in my spam filter!! It’s a beautiful color, but I am noticing that the Web doesn’t like it as much as I do…the pic is a little garbled. So glad you stopped by!
