You can empower a mother who’s lost everything this Mother’s Day. Helping women is definitely one of my very favorite things!

Helpless…have you ever seen something so tragic, but felt absolutely helpless to do anything about it? That’s often how I feel when I turn on the television to see pictures of displaced refugees; their faces etched with pain and uncertainty.

What can I do to help them? How can I really touch their pain?

Thankfully, there are people out there who are finding practical, grass root solutions. The Preemptive Love Coalition is all about transforming conflict into life-changing solutions.

They lost everything to ISIS.

They are mothers. Wives. Daughters. They live in tents and shipping containers. But they are not victims.

They are our sisters.

They are refugees with a gift for making beautiful, natural, Iraqi soap—free of the chemicals and dyes usually found in the commercial variety. What’s special about their soap is not just what goes into it. It’s what it does.

Every bar they sell helps them grow their business. Feed their families. Put their children back in school. Every bar helps them reclaim what ISIS tried to destroy.

Not through a handout, but through the work of their own hands.

Sisterhood Soap Is Empowering Mothers

The Preemptive Coalition started the Sisterhood Soap initiative to teach Iraqi mothers to make soap. Sisterhood soap is empowering mothers who have lost everything by restoring their dignity and giving them the opportunity for a future.
