How To Conquer The Lure Of Holiday Sweets
December 17, 2015Christmas Traditions- Wonderful Wednesday
December 23, 2015Christmas week has finally arrived! I am so happy to have my whole family together again to enjoy the holiday. And of course, I will be wearing red for Christmas.
Wearing Red For Christmas
To celebrate the occasion, I chose a black sleeveless top with beaded accents around the collar and a sequined skinny scarf to add just a little extra sparkle. My favorite part of the outfit is the red and black bubble skirt. I have owned the top and the skirt for many years. However, I purchased the skinny scarf as a trendy seasonal accessory.
Then, I chose some shimmery pearl and capiz shell bracelets to finish off the look.
I have been spending quite a bit more time in the kitchen since my son arrived back home. Our family has a special Christmas Eve tradition. Each year we have our own little Christmas party, complete with our favorite dips and appetizers, in honor of Jesus’ birthday. In fact, this is the time this mama does most of her holiday cooking. So, the kids have already put in special orders for their favorite party foods.
How about you…do you like to wear traditional reds for the holidays or do you gravitate to other colors? Adding color is always a great choice for fashion over 40. Even if you don’t feel comfortable wearing red in your larger wardrobe pieces, red accessories can still make a major style statement.

Happy Holidays, and I do love the print on the skirt Shellie, this is one o f my fav color combos, black and red. I do tend to gravitate to reds and emeralds over the holidays.

Gorgeous, Shellie! I love the birthday party for Jeaus-that is so awesome! It just dawned on me that, far too often, my traditional Christmas outfit is pajamas, jeans, whatever new clothes I received, or any combination or one or more of those. I have to change that. LOL! Merry Christmas and enjoy!
Thanks Regina! I bet you have to dress up a lot for your work, so maybe pajamas and jeans are just what you need to enjoy your Christmas. May your holidays be blessed.
