Fall 2015 Fashion Trends – How To Wear Over 40
November 2, 2015Saying No Doesn’t Mean You Are A Bad Person
November 7, 2015The 70’s trend is probably one of my favorite for Fall. When I think of the 70’s, I think of vivid colors and a casual boho vibe. The 70’s fashion trend is a fabulous opportunity for women over 40 to let their hair down just a little bit and step out of more traditional styles.
There are a couple of elements that really pull this outfit together. First, it is anchored by flared jeans, which are ultra flattering for the figure because they elongate the leg and balance the shoulders. I chose a pair of Michael Kohr’s wedges, which work perfectly with the jeans.
The second element is this fabulous multi-colored sheath dress by KASH. A few weeks ago I mentioned this Filipino dress line started by my friend, Kasey Godoy. I chose to wear the dress over pants because that’s a popular feature of the 70’s and because the dress would have been a little too short on its own. I just love how the colors pop and they are many of the trendy colors for the season.
I added some orange accessories to pick up the colors in the dress; including a gorgeous handmade necklace from Thailand.
I also thought it would be fun to mix things up by adding a denim vest and an over-sized hip belt.
I hope I’ve given you enough to inspire your own 70’s outfit. Now, it’s time to move on to My Refined Style #2. We were thrilled with the first linkup with 92 links and just under 5500 views! I just love this special linkup where we get to see women over 40 strut their fashion stuff.
Make sure to come back on November 16 to see some of my featured fashionistas from the linkup!
