How About Some Midlife Fitness Inspiration
October 29, 2015Fall 2015 Fashion Trends – How To Wear Over 40
November 2, 2015About a month ago I realized it was time to make a new effort to get myself organized. Unfortunately, life has a way of drawing your attention right to the immediate and urgent. The biggest problem with dealing with tasks as they arise is that your attention is often consumed by the small tasks. They pop up incessantly causing you to turn your back on the real and relevant things in life.
My friend Kimberly has come up with an awesome new tool to help you organize your time and priorities. Her new planner, the Choices Notebook, not only provides a streamlined design to review your month and week at a glance, but it goes a step further by helping you prioritize life areas that can be easily overlooked. Kimberly points out,” Experience proves that there is no substitute for the physical process of sitting down, planning, setting your goals, and taking notes with pen and paper.”
WHAT TO EXPECT:
- Planning pages: weekly & monthly layouts – undated so you can start whenever!
- Goal setting & tracking
- Gratitude list
- Bucket list (dream planning!)
- Notes pages
- Brainstorming pages
- Happiness actions
- Perferated pages you can tear out
- All beautifully packaged in a leather cover with a ribbon marker and elastic belly band
Make More Proactive Choices
When I tried the Choices notebook I soon discovered the value of using a planner that incorporates all facets of life, rather than a simple calendar. I was prompted to think through key life areas that I rarely take time to consider. For instance, when considering the health prompt it occurred to me that I had been feeling more tired than usual, which triggered me to resume taking iron supplements. I also realized that I needed to take purposeful action to reestablish a connection with a friend I hadn’t seen in a while.
By evaluating not just my schedule, but my life in general, I was sparked to make choices to improve my day-to-day in several ways. In essence, the Choices Notebook made me more proactive, rather than simply reacting to situations as they arise; like a leaf in the wind. I have become a firm believer that the tyranny of the urgent can rob you of living every present moment.
My Choices Notebook
Most of us would say we could use a little extra organization in our lives, but organization without purposeful living can leave us dissatisfied. It helps to proactively consider what you value in life and how your current priorities line up with those values. The Choices Notebook allows you to consider your progress along the way and helps you to express gratitude for each step of your journey.
Sometimes we don’t even know what we need until we find it. I found the Choice Notebook to be an excellent tool for establishing a more purposeful, proactive life.
You can learn more about the Choices Notebook by visiting the Kickstarter Page For Choices Notebook. There, you can also catch more of Kimberly’s vision by watching a video that explains what really inspired her for this project.
Kimberly is a great gal and I believe that she has designed something that can positively impact your today and lead to a more fulfilling tomorrow.
