My Personal Journey With Iron Deficiency Anemia
September 26, 2015Photoshop Time Travel – Wordless Wednesday
September 29, 2015When it comes to classic style, I never rely on the trends to determine my fashion choices. However, every now and then, a trend comes along that hits me right in my happy place! I found just that in the Fall 2015 trend, head-to-toe black. Now, here’s a trend that I can fully embrace with both arms and a kiss on the cheek!
Some of these styles from NY Fashion Week may be a little more avant garde than you are used to, but they all feature intricate details. When it comes to head-to-toe black, the beauty is in the details.
I am a major fan of black, so this outfit put me right in my element. I also love to win prizes, so I decided it’s time to give my readers a little #giveaway action to get the Fall started off right.
Fabulous Fall Giveaway!
There are a number of details that keep this outfit from becoming a sea of black. First, the top features a sheer overlay. This provides a textural dimension to the blouse.
I paired the blouse with a bow belt and black jewelry accessories; including a lovely Fossil Stainless Steel ring I just got for my birthday.
Have you been sporting your own head-to-toe black outfits lately? If so, I would like to give a special invite to all you over-40 fashionistas to join the inaugural My Refined Style, Fashion Over 40 Linkup (monthly) this Thursday.Β Β
This week, I will have an additional ThursdayΒ fashionΒ post for the linkup. There, I will be changing up this outfit by adding accessories that pop against an all-black canvas. So, come back!
Catch all my fashion posts by clicking the little red follow tab at the bottom of the screen or Follow with Bloglovinβ!

You look gorgeous in this all black. I enjoy wearing all black, even though “I’m warm autumn”
However, sometimes I play with colors and put together a bit crazy combinations (purple and teal, orange and burgundy…) they go well with my hair though.
Hi Martina,
I just popped over and looked at your blog. You have stunning red hair, so I definitely see why you would highlight it with those awesome colors. I hope you will link up that beautiful black and pink dress in the My Refined Style Linkup…Thank you so much for stopping by!
The most fabulous thing about Fall is that there are so many things that are pumpkin spice flavored.

PS you look stunning!
Thanks!!

I’m a big fan of black!! It looks terrific on you!! Excited for our linkup!
Me too, Jennifer!!
I love the all black as well. So classic, edgy, and sophisticated. I recently styled an all black outfit with a gorgeous turquoise statement necklace (the only color I had on). I had been making a move away from black and realized I hadn’t even worn a stitch of black in most of my outfits, so I figured that now Fall is here, I could try out the all black again. And it felt fresh and new!
