When it comes to fashion, you can’t go wrong with metallic pieces. Metallic clothes and accessories make their way onto runways year after year.
This outfit is a perfect example of timeless pieces. I bought this Anne Taylor skirt about eight years ago and the silver wrap belt was purchased from Dillard’s around the same time. They still look fresh and fashion forward today. There are two rules to follow for choosing clothing pieces that will weather the test of time. Look for quality fabrics and focus on items with classic lines and cuts.
I paired these older items with a crisp white ruffled-front blouse. I love the fun and flirty look of the ruffles, but I am always careful how I wear them because they can add extra width to my frame. So, I took a little needle and thread and tacked the ruffle down along the edges. This allows the blouse to lie flat without adding too much extra volume.
Of course, you can’t forget the shoes. Here’s a vintage pair I picked up at a second-hand store called an Ukay Ukay here in the Philippines.
Finally, I finished off the whole look with a charm bracelet, stainless/enamel rings and a white Fitbit wrist band and I’m ready to go!
You can’t go wrong with the timeless look of metallics in your wardrobe.
