Wow, it’s hard to believe we are already in the last week of July! This whole summer has been a blur for me as I’ve gone straight from one event to the next…and, I don’t see anything slowing down until late August.

I have also been adjusting to the 12-hour time difference from Asia to America. In Manila, I was always a day ahead of the US, which has made it hard for me to adjust my old posting schedule to American time. So, I have decided to change my Monday fashion post to a Tuesday fashion post instead!

Little White Dress

The little black dress receives a lot of hype, but when it comes to summer and hot weather, the little white dress (LWD) is the perfect choice for looking stylish and sophisticated.

I picked up this fabulous little white dress at a Jones New York going out of business sale. Evidently, Jones New York is no longer operating its own retail stores. But, I found the same dress on the Saks Off 5th website for $39.98!

I love the pleated detail in the front.

The simple style of this dress could be easily pair with a blazer to keep it dressy or a denim jacket and wedges to add a more casual feel.

I chose black and white jewelry to further enhance the the sophisticated simplicity of this dress. When it comes to dresses like this, the detailing speaks loud enough that everything else can be kept to a minimum for maximum style effect.

The little white dress is a great choice for fashion over 40, just keep in mind that the all-white palette can add visual width. If this is an issue for you, try adding a wider contrasting belt or a tailored blazer.
