So, we all have one…you know, that favorite whole-in-the-wall diner where everything tastes just a little better than anywhere else. In my hometown, Tastee Freez is the undisputed king of restaurants. This family-owned and run restaurant has always been the place-to-be. The funny thing about Tastee Freez is that it hasn’t had that official name since I was a kid!

Somewhere around 40 years ago, Tastee Freez changed it’s name to Ed’s Restaurant, but the locals didn’t seem to notice. Oh, they all know the name on the sign, but you will likely never hear them refer to it that way.

Here, I’m wearing a Tommy Hilfiger button-up and cuffed jean shorts. The stripe down the back really adds flare to an otherwise typical design.

Tastee Freez Is Actually Called Ed’s

I recently met a woman who moved to town a few years ago. She kept hearing people talk about Tastee Freez,  so she decided to give it a try. She drove up and down the road searching, but never saw the sign. Only later did her co-workers solve the mystery by explaining that the restaurant is actually called Ed’s.

I finished off the outfit with a cute pair of gold Tommy Hilfiger sandals (I highlighted these sandals in an earlier post this summer).

I haven’t lived in my hometown for thirty years, but I wouldn’t dream of a visit home without several trips to Tastee Freez. Evidently, my sentiments are shared by all my childhood friends who also post about their pilgrimages to Tastee Freez on their visits home!

Just in case I’ve sparked your interest in my all-time favorite burger joint, Ed’s Restaurant is located in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. It is located on Highway 90; the traffic pipeline for mainland beach-goers on their way to Sandestin beach.

Ed’s is the home of the pub burger, which was recently voted the best burger in West Florida. If you ever find yourself in the area, stop by “Tastee Freez.” You will not be disappointed! My Tastee Freez (AKA Ed’s Restaurant) gives me that familiar taste of home.
