It can be very tempting to chase a particular clothing size when you are in the process of losing weight. But clothing size does not necessarily represent health or fitness.
Part of establishing a new weight loss mindset is establishing new mindful eating habits and then allowing your body to adjust and change in response to those modifications in your diet.
The problem with chasing the size is that many people set up size expectations that can only be achieved with a strict deprivation diet. Reaching a particular size may bring a sense of accomplishment in the short run, but these feelings will be short-lived if you can’t maintain your new weight for the long haul.
What’s more, our body changes at different stages of our lives, which may necessitate a shift in sizing.
Remember, no one but you sees the size on the tag. Instead of chasing a particular size, allow your body to respond naturally to your new eating habits. You will lose weight and keep it off if you establish mindful eating habits. Seek health instead of a clothing size.
